Molasses Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 c. molasses
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. raisins and currants
2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. ginger
1 Tbsp. cloves
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
2 c. sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add molasses and beaten eggs. Sift dry ingredients.
Add alternately with 1 1/2 cups sour milk. Mix soda in the remaining flour.
Floured raisins and currants are added last.
