English Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. water
    1/2 c. almonds, finely chopped
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 lb. milk chocolate
Preparation
    Cook butter, sugar and water (260\u00b0); stir constantly.
    Add almonds; continue cooking to 300\u00b0 (hard crack stage).
    Stir continually; remove from heat. Add vanilla; pour into buttered pan.
    Cut up chocolate and put on top of candy while hot.
    As chocolate melts, spread evenly over candy.
    Sprinkle grated almonds over top.
    When chocolate is hard, it's ready to eat.
