Pasties(Yields 5 Servings) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. solid vegetable shortening
    1 c. cold water (approximately)
    dash of salt
    1/2 lb. ground beef
    2 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped
    1/2 medium rutabaga, peeled and chopped
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 Tbsp. parsley
    2 Tbsp. butter
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
    With a pastry blender, cut shortening into flour until the mixture forms a ball. The pastry will be stickier than regular pie crust.
    With floured hands, shape into a ball.
    Wrap in wax paper and let rest in refrigerator while preparing filling.
