Super Oyster Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 pt. oysters
    1 qt. milk, scalded
Preparation
    Blend first four items to smooth paste and stir in oysters and their liquor.
    (Flour is one secret of stew's perfection.)
    Simmer oysters over very low heat until edges curl.
    Pour into scalded milk by pouring into bowl of spoon to prevent splashing.
    Remove pan from heat; cover and let stand 15 minutes.
    (This improves flavor.)
    Have tureen and soup bowls hot; add pats of butter or margarine.
    Reheat stew briefly until hot and serve.
    Serves 4.
