Prairie Fire - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 (16 oz.) cans red kidney beans
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    8 oz. shredded Provolone cheese (about 2 c.)
    1/4 to 1/3 c. chopped hot pepper (jalapenos or Serranos)
    2 Tbsp. minced onion
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 tsp. salt
    corn or tortilla chips for dipping
Preparation
    Drain beans, reserving 2/3 cup of the liquid.
    Mash beans.
    In a large skillet, combine beans, liquid, butter, cheese, peppers, onion, garlic and salt.
    Heat and stir until mixture is hot and cheese melts.
    Transfer to chafing dish or crock-pot.
    Serve with chips.
