Gingerbread Boys - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. molasses
    1 egg yolk
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ground cloves
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Best to make dough the day before.
    Cream together shortening, sugar and molasses.
    Add egg yolk and mix well.
    Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, soda and spices.
    Stir in flour mixture and mix well.
    Chill.
    Roll out 1/3 of dough, 1/4-inch thickness on a floured board.
    Keep remaining dough refrigerated. Cut with 5-inch gingerbread cutter.
    Place on ungreased baking sheet and decorate with raisins or as desired.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Yields 2 dozen cookies.
