Shrimp Stuffed Bell Peppers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 to 8 bell peppers, blanched
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 1/2 lb. chopped boiled shrimp (or 1 lb. ground beef)
    3 c. cooked rice
    1 onion
    1/2 c. green onion
    1 rib chopped celery
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 beaten egg
    1 tsp. Italian seasoning
    1 small can tomato sauce
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 c. Ragu sauce (no meat kind)
    1 to 2 tsp. paprika
    1/2 c. chopped cheese (optional)
Preparation
    Brown onions and celery (if use beef, brown it also) in shortening.
    Add rice, chopped shrimp, egg, cheese, Italian seasoning and salt and pepper to taste.
    Stuff peppers firmly with stuffing.
    Place in a 5-quart heavy boiler with tomato sauce, Ragu and sugar.
    Add approximately 2 cups water.
    Sprinkle peppers with paprika.
    Boil on medium heat for about 1 hour with pot covered.
