Beef And Tater Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef (chuck)
    1 c. soft bread crumbs (2 slices bread)
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/3 c. ketchup
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    4 c. mashed potatoes
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except potatoes and pat into a 3-quart casserole dish.
    Bake, uncovered, at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Remove from oven and drain off fat.
    Combine 4 cups hot mashed potatoes with 3/4 cup Cheddar cheese.
    Spread over meat and top with 1/4 cup cheese.
    Bake for 20 minutes.
    Let cool 5 minutes, cut into squares and serve.
