My Mom'S Hot Fudge Pudding Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. white sugar
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1/2 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. melted shortening
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 3/4 c. hot water
Preparation
    Sift together into a bowl the flour, baking powder, salt, white sugar and 2 tablespoons of cocoa.
    Stir in the milk and melted shortening.
    Stir in the nuts and pour this mixture into a 9-inch square pan.
    Sprinkle with a mixture of 1 cup of brown sugar and 4 tablespoons of cocoa.
    Pour 1 3/4 cups of very hot water slowly over the top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    The cake will come to the top with a creamy, rich chocolate sauce forming on the bottom. Cut and serve the piece upside down on a plate and top with Cool Whip.
