Company Sausage Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. bulk pork sausage
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 (10 3/4 oz.) cans mushroom soup
    1 1/2 c. milk
    2 oz. jar diced pimento
    4 oz. can sliced mushrooms, drained
    8 oz. can sliced water chestnuts, drained
    2/3 c. uncooked long grain rice
Preparation
    Cook sausage in a large skillet until browned; add onion and cook with sausage until clear, stirring well and drain.
    In large bowl, combine all other ingredients; add sausage and onion, mix well.
    Pour into a sprayed 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Uncover; stir and bake an additional 30 minutes.
    Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
    If desired, garnish with mushrooms and bell pepper strips.
    Yield:
    10 to 12 servings.
