Marinated Vegetable Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can whole kernel sweet corn
    1 can French-style green beans
    1 can peas
    1 onion, diced
    1 green pepper, diced
    1 small jar pimentos
    diced celery (optional)
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white vinegar
    1 c. oil
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Mix together the first 7 ingredients.
    In a saucepan, heat the sugar, vinegar, oil, salt and pepper to a boil.
    Cool.
    Pour over vegetable mixture.
    Marinate for at least 6 to 8 hours.
    Add other seasonings to taste (garlic powder, mixed herbs, etc.).
