Yum Yum Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 (3 oz.) lemon Jell-O
    1 (8 oz.) Philadelphia cream cheese
    1 c. diced fine celery
    1 c. chopped apples
    1/2 c chopped pecans
    1 pkg. Dream Whip
Preparation
    Combine pineapple and sugar.
    Cook for 3 minutes.
    Add Jell-O and cream cheese; stir until well mixed.
    Cook until mixture begins to congeal.
    Add celery, apple and nuts.
    Prepare Dream Whip. Leave out the vanilla.
    Fold into Jell-O mixture.
    Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Chill 6 hours or overnight.
    Serves 12.
