Fried Cornmeal Mush - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. boiling water
    3/4 c. cold water
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Moisten cornmeal with enough cold water to make a paste.
    Stir paste into boiling salted water, beating thoroughly.
    Stir until it thickens.
    Cook at low heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
    Pour hot into a narrow baking pan; let stand until cold and solid.
    Cut in thick slices and fry on both sides in a well buttered hot skillet until nicely browned.
