Caramel Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Cook brown sugar and milk over medium
    heat to the soft ball stage (230\u00b0).
    Remove from stove and add cream of tartar. Stir very little to blend the cream
    of tartar.
    Set aside and cool to lukewarm.
    Beat until it thickens to frost cake.
