Ground Beef And Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. chopped onions
    1 c. diced potatoes
    1 c. diced celery
    1 c. shredded cabbage
    4 c. tomato juice or 2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
    3 c. water
    pepper
    3 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. basil (optional)
    1 tsp. thyme (optional)
Preparation
    Brown beef and onions in small amount of fat; drain.
    Combine remaining ingredients in large kettle.
    Add beef and onions. Simmer for 1 hour.
    Yields 6 to 8 servings.
