Reception Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    1 (6 oz.) can frozen lemon juice
    3 (6 oz.) cans frozen orange juice
    1 qt. ginger ale
    1 qt. sparkling water or white grape juice
    sliced oranges and cherries
    1 pt. lemon or orange sherbet
Preparation
    Heat sugar and water until dissolved; cool.
    Combine juices, ginger ale, sparkling water and fruits.
    Pour into punch bowl and add crushed ice.
    Drop in sherbet by spoonfuls.
    Makes 20 to 30 servings.
