Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 German chocolate cake mix
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
    3/4 c. margarine
    1/2 c. evaporated milk
    1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Prepare mix as directed on package.
    Grease 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
    Pour 1/2 cake batter into pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes. In pan over low heat, melt caramels, milk, butter and chips. Stir until smooth.
    Remove cake from oven and pour melted ingredients over cake.
    Top with nuts and pour remaining batter over this.
    Bake 20 minutes longer.
