Smoking Bishop - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large orange
    6 cloves
    1/2 to 1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 bottle dry red wine (750 ml)
Preparation
    Stud the orange with the cloves and bake it in a 350\u00b0 oven until the skin has browned, about 40 minutes.
    Cut the orange in quarters and place in a heavy saucepan with the sugar and water. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar, then reduce the heat and simmer, covered, about 20 minutes.
    Add the wine and heat until the mixture is \"smoking\" hot.
    Pour into a heated punch bowl and serve.
