Chili Sauce(100 Year-Old Recipe Of Grandmother E. Ferry) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    18 ripe tomatoes
    6 onions
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    3 green peppers
    2 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    2 tsp. salt or low-salt
Preparation
    Blanch tomatoes in boiling water, then peel and chop.
    Chop peppers and onions.
    Saute until tender.
    Add spices, sugar and vinegar.
    Cook until down about 1/3.
    Put into hot canning jars and seal at once.
    Do not let sauce cool off before putting it into the jars.
    This is excellent on hot dogs, meat or snacks.
