Great Northern Fruitcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. sugar
    1 lb. butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. mace
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. ground cardamon seed
    1 doz. eggs
    1 Tbsp. lemon
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. sherry wine
    1 1/4 lb. white flour
    2 lb. seedless raisins
    2 lb. currants
    1 lb. glazed mixed fruits
    1 lb. glazed whole cherries
    1 lb. candied glazed pineapple
    1 c. walnut pieces
    1 c. pecans
    1 c. whole almonds
Preparation
    Cream together sugar, butter and salt.
    Add cinnamon, mace, nutmeg and ground cardamon seed.
    Stir in eggs.
    Add lemon, vanilla and sherry wine.
    Add white flour.
    Mix lightly.
    Add raisins, currants, mixed fruits, cherries, pineapple, walnut pieces, pecans and almonds.
    Line pans with heavy brown paper. Grease.
    Bake 3 hours at 325\u00b0.
    Cool; peel off paper.
