German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 to 8 medium potatoes
    1/2 lb. bacon, diced
    1 small onion, chopped (optional)
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
Preparation
    Boil potatoes in skins until tender; peel and slice thinly into bowl.
    Fry bacon until crisp; cook onion in bacon drippings until yellow.
    Remove from pan and reserve.
    Pour off all but 3 tablespoons of fat from frypan.
    Mix in flour, sugar, salt and pepper.
    Gradually stir in water and vinegar; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
    Boil 1 minute.
    Pour over the potatoes, along with the bacon and onion; stir to mix.
    Can be kept warm in oven until ready to serve.
