Mae Laws Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. unpeeled cucumbers, sliced
    4 c. chopped cabbage
    1 large diced green pepper
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    5 c. white sugar
    2 c. whole kernel corn and chopped carrots
    1 qt. chopped onions
    3 cloves garlic, chopped
    1/3 c. uniodized salt
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    3 c. white vinegar
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Combine cucumbers, onions, cabbage, garlic, green pepper and salt.
    Cover with ice; let stand for 3 hours.
    Drain.
    Bring mustard seed, celery seed, sugar, vinegar and turmeric to boil; pour over the drained vegetables and return to a boil.
    Add corn and chopped carrots (2 cups total); put into sterilized jars. Process in water bath for 20 minutes.
    Makes 9 pints.
    A great favorite and delicious in egg or potato salad.
