Edna'S Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. shortening or margarine
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 egg

Preparation

Mix together brown sugar, white sugar, shortening and spices. Reserve 3/4 cup of this mixture for topping.
Mix together flour, salt and soda.
Add to sugar mixture.
Add buttermilk and egg and beat until mixed.
Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan.
Sprinkle 3/4 cup reserved mixture on top and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
