Five Pound Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. evaporated milk
    2 c. light corn syrup
    2 sticks butter
    1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Combine sugar, milk, syrup and butter in saucepan.
    Cook without stirring until mix reaches 240\u00b0 on candy thermometer, or forms soft ball in cold water (about 25 minutes).
    This scorches easily so watch carefully.
    Remove from heat; beat with electric mixer until creamy, about 10 minutes.
    Stir in walnuts.
    Pour into a buttered 10 x 15-inch pan.
    Let stand until set.
    Cut into pieces; store in refrigerator.
