Kooky Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, shredded
    1 medium onion, sliced thin and separate
    1 small can water chestnuts, sliced
    1 pkg. small (approximately 10 oz.) frozen peas
    3/4 c. cut up celery
Preparation
    Cook peas 7 minutes.
    Layer in oblong pan (preferably glass) in order given.
    Then spread with 1/2 pint real mayonnaise, salt and pepper to taste.
    Sprinkle with 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Cover with foil; do not use Saran Wrap.
    Refrigerate overnight.
