Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 fryer chicken
    1 lb. carrots, sliced
    4 stalks celery, chopped
    2 bay leaves
    3 c. self-rising flour
    1 egg
    water
    5 chicken bouillon cubes
    black pepper
    (no salt)
Preparation
    Cut chicken.
    Put chicken, water and bouillon cubes in gumbo pot.
    Boil with carrots, celery and bay leaves.
    Remove bay leaves and discard.
    Remove chicken; debone and set aside.
    Mix the flour, egg and enough water to make a stiff dough.
    Turn onto a floured surface and roll very thin.
    Cut in 1/2-inch squares.
    Drop in boiling broth.
    Cook for 10 minutes.
    Return chicken to pot and serve.
