Jam Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. oats (uncooked)
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. chopped nuts or wheat germ
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    3/4 c. preserves
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except preserves in a large bowl. Beat at low speed until mixture is crumbly.
    Reserve 2 cups of mixture; press remaining onto bottom of greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
