Spinach Scalloped Franks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sliced cooked potatoes
    1/4 c. chopped onions
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    2 Tbsp. flour
    3/4 c. milk
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    6 oz. drained spinach
    1/2 lb. franks, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
Preparation
    Saute onions in shortening.
    Add flour and make a paste. Slowly mix in milk to prevent lumping.
    Heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
    Remove from heat and stir in 3/4 cup cheese until melted.
    Add spinach.
    Layer twice in casserole potatoes, franks and sauce.
    Bake, covered, 45 to 50 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven. Uncover and melt reserved 1/4 cup cheese on top.
    Serves 4 to 6.
