Picnic Turnovers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. cooked ham or other meat, ground
    4 Tbsp. mayonnaise
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1/2 tsp. onion juice
    2 Tbsp. dill pickle, finely chopped
    2 c. sifted flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    5 Tbsp. shortening
    2/3 c. milk
    5 slices cheese
Preparation
    Combine meat, mayonnaise, mustard, onion juice and pickle; mix well.
    Sift flour with baking powder and salt.
    Cut in shortening until consistency of meal.
    Add milk until a soft dough is formed. Roll lightly on floured board to 1/4-inch thickness.
    Cut into 4-inch squares.
    Brush squares with melted butter.
    Place triangle of cheese on half of square.
    Put 1 tablespoon meat mixture on cheese and fold over other half of dough to form triangle.
    Press edges together.
    Bake in hot oven (425\u00b0) for 20 to 25 minutes. Makes 10.
