Grandma'S Depression Rye Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    1/2 c. warm water
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    6 c. white flour
    1 c. rye flour (heaping full)
    3 c. warm water
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
    Add salt and sugar. Add 3 cups warm water and flour alternately to yeast mixture, beating well.
    When all flour and water are added, dough will be sticky.
    Allow to rise for 2 hours.
    Turn mixture onto a floured board and knead for a few minutes.
    Add flour to board as you need to make dough smooth.
