Ingredients

1 unbaked 10-inch double crust
4 to 6 very ripe blackberries
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
3 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

Make pastry; roll half very thin and use to line a 2-inch deep baking pan.
Roll other half and cut into 2-inch strips.
Bake half the strips in a preheated 375\u00b0 oven until lightly browned.
Put berries, 1 cup sugar and water into a saucepan.
Cook until berries are soft.
Mix flour and 1/4 cup sugar; add to berries.
Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture has thickened slightly.
Spoon berries into pastry lined pan with cooked pastry strips stirred through filling.
Dot with butter.
Cover with remainder of pastry strips (uncooked).
Bake at 425\u00b0 until pastry is brown.
