Cherry Jubilee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
    1/2 lb. vanilla wafers, crushed fine
    2 eggs
    1 (22 oz.) can cherry pie filling
    1 c. cream, whipped
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beat thoroughly.
    Place 1/2 of crumbs in pan.
    Spread butter mixture over crumbs.
    Top with cherry filling.
    Cover with whipped cream and sprinkle remaining crumbs on top.
    Chill for several hours or overnight.
    Serves 12.
