Marinated Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage (approximately 2 1/2 lb.)
    2 medium onions, sliced thin
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    3/4 c. oil
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Shred cabbage and separate onion slices into rings.
    Arrange layers of cabbage and onion in a bowl or plastic container, sprinkling sugar as you layer.
    Place all other ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
    Pour over cabbage and onions. Cool.
    Cover and refrigerate.
    Best if made at least one day prior to serving.
    Will keep several days in refrigerator.
