Popcorn Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. popped popcorn
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 c. molasses
    1/2 c. water
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Boil mixture until crackles (290\u00b0 to 300\u00b0) when dropped in cold water.
    Add 1/4 teaspoon soda.
    While foaming, pour mixture over corn.
    Form into balls while warm.
    Makes 12 (3-inch) balls.
