Kentucky Supper Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head green cabbage, shredded and chopped
    3 medium carrots, chopped
    1 bunch green onions or 1 medium white winter onion, chopped
    1 (17 oz.) can peas
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    1/4 c. juice from sweet or bread and butter pickles
    3/4 c. mayonnaise or salad dressing (fat-free)
    1/2 c. buttermilk Ranch dressing
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients carefully so as to mash peas.
    (I do this with my hands, but if you are more sophisticated a fork will do.) Salt and pepper to taste.
    Place in lettuce leaf lined bowl. Refrigerate until serving time.
