Lenten Pirohi With Potato Filling - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. water
Preparation

Combine and work to make a smooth dough.
Add more or less flour as needed.
Set aside and cover with damp cloth.
Pare and cut up potatoes.
Boil.
When done, mash them with a little of the water they cooked in and add chopped, sauteed onions which were browned in a little oil.
Roll out dough, cut into squares and fill with mashed potato mixture.
Moisten edges of dough with water, fold over and pinch firmly together to seal tightly.
Drop pirohi a few at a time into boiling, salted water.
Cook about 5 minutes or until they float to the top.
Lift out of the pan with slotted spoon and drain well in colander.
Saute some onions in oil and pour over pirohi before serving.
