Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3/4 c. corn meal
1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 small onion, chopped

Preparation

Stir together corn meal, flour, baking powder and salt.
Stir in egg, onion and enough milk to make a batter stiff enough to drop, not pour.
Drop by level tablespoon, without crowding, into 375\u00b0 oil.
Cook for 3 or 4 minutes until brown.
Drain on paper towels.
