Homemade Wheat Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. yeast
    1/2 c. warm water
    3 c. hot water
    4 c. whole wheat flour
    2/3 c. brown sugar
    4 tsp. salt
    6 Tbsp. shortening (1/4 c. plus 1/8 c.)
    6 to 6 1/2 c. white flour
Preparation
    Soften dry yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
    Combine shortening. Stir in whole wheat flour and 1 cup white flour.
    Beat well.
    Stir in softened yeast.
    Add 3 cups white flour.
    Rest of flour will be used to knead dough.
    Knead dough for 1 to 12 minutes.
    Shape dough into ball.
    Cover in greased bowl big enough to let rise double in size for 1 1/2 hours.
    Punch down; shape into 3 smooth balls.
    Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
    Shape into 3 loaves.
    Put into greased pans and let rise until double (1 1/2 hours).
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Cover loosely with foil if loaves brown too quickly.
