Texas Pinto Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. pinto beans
1 large onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 Tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. oregano
diced jalapeno peppers (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
1 large smoked ham hock
Preparation

Wash beans and soak overnight.
Cover beans with 2 inches of water; simmer, covered, with other ingredients until tender. Taste for seasonings and serve hot.
