Goulash(Steelworkers Hungarian Beef) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. cooking oil
    1 c. sliced onion
    2 lb. stewing beef, cut up
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    3/4 c. green pepper
    1/4 c. dry red wine
    1 c. canned tomatoes
    1 small bay leaf
    pinch of thyme, marjoram
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 tsp. paprika
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Heat oil in Dutch oven.
    Saute onions until golden.
    Add meat; brown lightly.
    Add remaining ingredients except for the cornstarch and water.
    Cover; simmer slowly for 1 1/2 to 3 hours until meat is tender.
    Skim off fat.
    Mix cornstarch and water; stir into meat gravy mixture.
    Bring to a boil, still stirring. Stir while it boils, 2 minutes.
    Serve with buttered noodles. Makes 6 servings.
