Cabbage Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage (about 3 lb.)
    1/2 c. rice
    1 lb. ground meat
    1 egg
    2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1/4 lb. bacon, diced and fried
    medium chopped onion, fried with bacon until golden
    1 can tomato soup
Preparation
    Cut a core in cabbage about 3 inches deep.
    Cook in a large kettle about 15 minutes.
    Let stand until cool enough to handle. Cook rice until partially tender.
    Cool, then add meat, egg, salt, pepper, bacon and onion; mix well.
    Separate cabbage leaves, put 1 tablespoon meat in each leaf.
    Roll up, tucking in ends.
    Place into a 4-quart pot.
    Mix tomato soup with 2 cans water.
    Pour over cabbage rolls and cook slowly for about 1 hour.
