Jambalaya - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 thick slice ham, cubed
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 c. chopped onion
    4 Tbsp. butter
    2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes, diced
    1 (10 oz.) can beef bouillon
    1 c. rice
    1 tsp. sugar
    3/4 tsp. thyme
    1/2 tsp. chili powder
    1 bay leaf, crushed
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    2 lb. raw shrimp
    1 can pitted black olives, drained
    1 or 2 green peppers, diced
Preparation
    In large skillet, cook ham, garlic and onion in butter until onion is transparent.
    Add tomatoes, bouillon, rice, sugar and all spices.
    Cover and cook until rice is tender (15 to 20 minutes). Add shrimp, olives and peppers.
    Simmer about 5 to 10 minutes to desired thickness.
    Serves 8 to 10.
