Sweet And Sour Turnips - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium turnips, peeled and sliced
    1 tsp. salt
    4 slices bacon, diced
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Place turnips in a saucepan; cover with water.
    Add salt and bring to boil; cover and cook 15 to 20 minutes, or until tender. Drain and set aside.
    Fry bacon in skillet until crisp.
    Combine egg, sugar and vinegar in a small mixing bowl, mixing well; stir into bacon and drippings.
    Pour bacon mixture over turnips and toss gently.
    Yields about 4 servings.
