Divinity Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. granulated sugar
    2/3 c. water
    1/2 c. white corn syrup
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cook the water, syrup and salt to hard ball stage when tested in a cup of cool water.
    Stir frequently.
    Beat the egg whites until stiff, but not dry.
    Pour cooked mixture into egg whites in a very slow stream, continuing to beat while you pour.
    (If you pour cooked mixture all at once, the egg whites will curdle.)
    Continue to beat until thickened.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Beat 1 more minute.
    Pour immediately into buttered 9 x 12-inch pan.
