Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. quick oats
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. light brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Soak oats in boiling water and let cool.
    Cream shortening, brown sugar and white sugar.
    Add eggs and vanilla to creamed mixture.
    Sift flour, soda, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg together. Alternate the adding of oats mixture, shortening and sugar.
    Baked in an 11 x 13-inch greased pan at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
