Swiss Onion Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. grated Swiss cheese
    2 slices bacon
    3 c. chopped onion
    2 eggs
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. light cream
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 unbaked 9-inch pastry shell
Preparation
    Fry bacon until crisp.
    Remove from pan.
    Add onion; cook until transparent.
    Cool.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add salt; stir in cream.
    Pour into pastry shell.
    Sprinkle with grated cheese; dot with butter.
    Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 30 minutes, or until firm (test with knife as you would for baked custard).
    Crumble bacon over baked pie.
