Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. enriched all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 c. margarine
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. molasses
    1 c. hot water
Preparation
    Sift flour once; measure and sift again with salt, soda and spices.
    Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add beaten egg and molasses; mix well.
    Add dry ingredients and hot water alternately.
    Beat until smooth.
    Start with dry ingredients and end with dry ingredients.
    Pour into well-greased pan (10 x 14-inch).
    Bake in preheated oven at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
