Elephant Ear Crispies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. scalded milk
2 Tbsp. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1 egg, beaten
2 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Combine milk, butter, sugar and salt.
Allow to cool before adding yeast dissolved in water.
Add beaten egg and flour gradually.
Turn onto floured surface and cover with bowl for 15 minutes.
Divide dough into 2 parts and roll each out to about 10 x 12-inches.
Brush generously with softened butter.
Sprinkle with 1/3 cup sugar and 2 teaspoonfuls of cinnamon.
Roll like a jelly roll and slice about 1/2 inch thick.
Place slices on buttered cookie sheets and flatten with bottom of glass as flat as possible. Sprinkle with more cinnamon-sugar and let rise 20 minutes.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly brown.
