Fresh Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 deep 9 or 10-inch pie shell
    1 1/4 c. water
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    3 Tbsp. water
    red food coloring
    dash of salt
    1 qt. strawberries, cut in large pieces
    1 carton whipped topping, thawed
Preparation
    Bring water and 1 cup sugar to boil in large saucepan. Gradually add cornstarch dissolved in 3 tablespoons water.
    Stir constantly until thick and clear.
    Add few drops red food coloring.
    Remove from heat.
    Add salt and strawberries.
    Cool slightly.
    Put in pie shell and refrigerate until set.
    Serve with whipped cream topping.
