Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. chopped dates
    2 c. boiling water
    6 tsp. soda
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    4 c. Bran Buds
    4 eggs
    5 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped nuts
    2 c. 40% bran flakes
    1 qt. buttermilk
Preparation
    Pour water over dates and cool.
    Add soda.
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Mix dates, creamed mixture and remaining ingredients in large bowl.
    Cover in an airtight container.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Do not stir again.
    Drop in well-greased muffin pan. Cook at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Keeps well refrigerated.
